£30,000 Damages for Historic Sexual Harassment at Work

In October 2022, Rosemary Connolly Solicitors were pleased to successfully secure a settlement of £30,000 on behalf of a client who had previously been employed by a major financial institution. The client had endured a prolonged and distressing campaign of sexual harassment during her time at the organisation.

Although these incidents took place several decades ago, it became evident that the financial institution was aware of the harasser’s tendency to engage in such inappropriate and unacceptable behaviour. Despite this knowledge, the institution failed to take adequate steps to prevent or address the misconduct.

The Plaintiff was therefore delighted to receive compensation for the deeply distressing and unacceptable treatment she had suffered. This settlement represents an important acknowledgment of the wrongdoing she endured and serves as a reminder of the importance of holding institutions accountable for failing to protect their employees from harassment.
